Please telephone me directly to set up an appointment.  My office hours are Monday thru Thursday, 11am-7pm; sessions begin on the hour, and end at ten minutes before the hour.  If you plan on using your health insurance, you will need to contact your insurance company directly for preauthorization of treatment.  For additional information about insurance, please see my insurance page.

I make every attempt to return telephone calls as soon as I am able to do so.  If your are experiencing a life-threatening emergency call 911, or go to the nearest hospital’s emergency room.  Assistance with mental health emergencies is available 24-hr with the Rappahannock Area Community Services Board (RACSB) at 540-373-6876, or at Snowden at Fredericksburg, 540-741-3900, a facility of Mary Washington Hospital.

I do not provide psychological assessments or evaluations that are for legal or court-related purposes, or for disability determinations.  If however I am subpoenaed in regard to your treatment with me, or required to provide written evaluations, you will be responsible for the cost of my services, including the cost of an attorney should I need my own legal counsel with respect to your case.

Professional ethics, and state and federal law, require that I keep confidential all information regarding your treatment with me, including the fact that you are a client of mine, unless you give me written consent to do so.  The exceptions to confidentiality are:  (i) when the client is a danger to self or others; or (ii) as required by law.  As a licensed health care practitioner, the law states that I have a duty to report to the Department of Social Services any known or suspected incidences of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children or elderly and incapacitated adults.
